Harvest On The Harbor Wrap/Perfect Paring & More

 Before I get to "HOTH"
a reminder that Figa is now at long last open!!!

The Perfect Pairing
Friday evening at Harvest On The Harbor featured a "Perfect Pairing" of four local James Beard Award winning chefs on the Viking Cooking Stage for an epicurean affair and tasting sponsored by Whole Foods. And as an added bonus Kristin Simmons prepared one of her hand made desserts to go along with coffee from Port Bean.
Sam Hayward of Fore Street, in Portland lead the evening off preparing scallops with mushrooms.

Clark Frasier & Mark Gaier of Arrows, in Ogunquit, were born to the stage and the kitchen as well it would seem with their award winning food a huge attraction on the Southern Maine coast.

Melissa Kelly of Primo, in Rockland, showed us how to whack up a bird and what makes her food so tasty, butter and lots of it! And seasonings and more of the same.

Kristin Simmons surprised and delighted the crowd with a little humor, above trying to levitate the audience and giving out prizes for correctly answering food questions.

Barbara Whitten, President Greater Portland Conventions & Visitors Bureau,  handed out $500 dollar scholarships to four SMCC culinary students for helping to make the backstage prep flow smoothly.
