Restaurant Week / Monday / Bartender Bash

Well, Maine Restaurant Week 2010 started with a party Monday night as 15 establishments came together at the Portland Museum of Art in the "Maine Bartenders Bash", sponsored by Cold River Vodka. The idea was to make an original drink using Cold River's Blueberry Vodka as the main ingredient. The big winner of course was Portland's Preble Street Resource Center, this year's recipient charity.  The other big winner was the Camden Harbor Inn, Natalie's Restaurant: Tom Laslavic, bartender. Their "Camden Mike" was judged the best drink!
"Camden Mike"
1 part blueberry puree
1 part blackberry puree
1/2 part honey syrup
2 parts Cold River Vodka
1/4 part creme de cassis
top with soda over ice

Each night  during Maine Restaurant Week,  restaurants from Kennebunkport to Searsport, Bangor to Bethel will feature prix fix menus at $20.10, $30.10, $40.10.  Some lunchtime specials have been added this year  at $15.10. Check the link above to see the complete schedule of participating restaurants in your area. And each night I'll be out shooting in one or two places trying to give a flavor of what's happening in the Greater Portland area. So if a week from now you see some crazy guy with a camera peering at you over the peas don't be alarmed and remember, Smile!
